Description
Composition:
- Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestin, which is the active ingredient in the medication. Each tablet typically contains 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel.
Indications:
- Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg is used as an emergency contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure (e.g., condom breakage, missed contraceptive pills, etc.).
- It should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex, ideally within 72 hours (3 days), though it may still be somewhat effective up to 120 hours (5 days) after intercourse.
