Dermovate 0.05% Ointment 30g

Dermovate ointment is a highly potent steroid drug. It is used to treat allergic skin conditions. It relieves inflammation, itching, and redness of various skin disorders. It works by preventing the release of substances or chemical messengers like Prostaglandins in the body that cause inflammation. In treating psoriasis, it reduces the scaly, itchy patches which may develop on the elbows, knees, scalp and other parts of the body. In treating eczema and dermatitis, it reduces the redness, rash, pain, or itchiness caused by your skin’s reaction to an irritant. When used correctly it is a safe and effective treatment and ointment is thicker, greasier, and is better for dry or flaky areas of skin. In addition to reducing inflammation (redness and swelling) in the area that they are applied, topical corticosteroids also suppress the immune response, reduce cell turnover, and constrict (narrow) blood vessels.

• Use this topical medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor.
• Dermovate ointment is only meant for external use. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands.
• Side effects: Stinging sensation at the application site.
• SAFETY ADVICE: Do not use it for more than 4 consecutive weeks at a time. Do not apply it to other areas of your body or use it to treat other skin conditions unless directed to do so by your doctor. Do not wrap or bandage the treated area unless your doctor tells you that you should. Such use may increase side effects.
